rear end ratio
Is there a way to ID a rear end ratio with out jacking the rear and counting the drive shaft rotations or pulling the cover. I remember something from my camaro racing days about a code on the tube next to the pumpkin. But I can't find any numbers there.

Re: rear end ratio
Sometimes you can get lucky and find either the ratio or the code on the glove box sticker.

Re: rear end ratio
There may be a code number stamped on the ring & pinion.

Re: rear end ratio
If you can find the option code sticker ( about 4 x 6 inches with about 30 or so 3 digit codes ie: m40, L05, etc) usually in the glove compartment, look for GU6( 3.42) or GT4(3.73) or GU5 (4.10) also G80= posi. Good luck!

Re: rear end ratio
Hey thanks, but my option code sticker is long gone. I don't even see any sticky stuff that might be left behind when it got yanked. Do all trucks get that option code sticker? Mine was a service truck with out a lot of options.
I'm going to have to pull the cover like Sillyoldman said and look for a number or count them and divide them. |

Re: rear end ratio
That is the best way to be sure what ratio you have.
