Under Bed gas filler neck relocation????
Hi, just wondering if anyone could help me out. I just purchased a 67 c10 and the previous owner put the 21 gallon tank underneath the bed. Except he made an area in the bed to lift up and left the filler hose uncapped flopping around.
Im about to redo the entire wood floor and want to relocate the filler neck in a proper location with the right cap and finish it out properly. Just wondering what everyone did and filler neck relocation and gas cap they used. Pictures would be great. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Under Bed gas filler neck relocation????
Hey romes20, to the forum!! You'll find tons of info on here on your topic. As for my truck, i have a fuel tank under the bed and plan on welding in a late model fuel door and box in around the fuel neck inside the bed area. I have that as an option as I have a metal bed floor, not quite the easy option for you unless you want to do some creative metal/wood work in the bed.
Again, there is TONS of great info here. Justin

I put mine in the wheel well, looks good, but if you are going to drop it you have to make some changes.

Re: Under Bed gas filler neck relocation????
71meangreen, mine is located in the wheel well now and I would like to lower it 3 inches in the front and 5 in the rear. What type of changes are you refering to? or it sounds like I screwed up already.
Thanks |

Re: Under Bed gas filler neck relocation????
According to where your neck and lines are, dropping it more could result in the lines hitting the tire... Mine is a fleetside and the way i did mine, i couldn't drop it more than a couple of inches without worry.

Re: Under Bed gas filler neck relocation????
I installed a round gas door from a late 90's chevy truck. I have relocated the gas tank to the rear. With the tank I installed I needed to notch the top of the frame for the filler tube to attach to the side mount of the gas tank.
Hope these photos help. Notch before welding.
