wrecked z28????

I work at a body shop and a 2000 z28 camero with 87xxx miles, auto trans came in ,hit hard in the front. The rails are over and the power steering resivor is leaking but the motor does not look to have any damage. The front fenders, hood, rad, condenser, bumber, air box are all trash. I started it up and the oil preassue jumped to 40 and seems to run fine. Whats a good price for some thing like this to offer the owner?? and is there any thing else I should look for to be damaged? Thanks for all the great info!!

Re: wrecked z28????

I used a 2000 firebird formula. I gave about 1800 for the entire car, 45k miles. I have sold enough parts from the car that I have got almost all my money back and I still have more parts. Mine was hit in the front drivers side. just look at the engine to make sure nothing it busted. If it runs it is prob ok.

Re: wrecked z28????

Is it a totaled insurance vehicle, or is the owner a private seller? The insurance company would have a "buy back" price that they would take. As for a private seller, I'd offer $1500 and see where it goes from there

Re: wrecked z28????

you can get a running car to drive home for slightly over $2500, i would not pay more than 1500 from the descriptions above.

for an LT1 car maybe...not a LS1 4th gen...at least not around here for a decent car you could drive home anyway.

I would just get as much wire with it as I easily could. The connector needs ground, power and a wire from the PCM called serial data to work.
