2 piece DS and loop
I've read in the NHRA rule book that you have to have a loop for any vehicle 13.99 or quicker and/or slicks. So, my question is with a two piece is there any specific rule? Like needing a reinforced carrier bearing or two loops or anything else?

Re: 2 piece DS and loop
I run a 2 piece on my 9 second truck. 850+ horse power. TH400, 4.56 gears, 32.5x14 slicks. It is a custom made driveline. The NHRA rule book only states you need a DS loop 6" from the front U joint. This is so if the front joint fails you don't pogo over it. I installed one a the tranny then another DS loop after the carrier bearing.

Re: 2 piece DS and loop
Another consideration for the loops is to also keep the shaft from coming into the car... not a big deal on a pickup compared to a car but it can and does happen.
