Harmonic balancer
Hi, i have a 1979 chevy inline 6. 250 ci. i recently did all new seals and gaskets in the motor and uppon taking the harmonic balancer off to do the front oil seal i discovered that the seal had warn a grove into the balancer. i went to the local napa and ordered a speedy sleve to fix the problem. to put the balancer back on the crank shaft i had to drive it on with a hammer because the crank is not drilled for a bolt. once i drove it on untill it stopped it had verry little clearance to the timing gear cover, and the belt didn't align properly. i am wondering if there is a certain spacing or if i just pull it out until it matches with the water pump pulley? any help would be great guys.
thanks, Ben |
