Narrow(er) 6-Lug rear axle option
I was reading up on a rear swap for my Wife's FJ40 and I came across this Hybrid axle build-up (gonna do it to run an NP205).
Since these are the same 6-lug pattern we run up to 1970, seems like a low-buck option for getting a 55" or 58" rear under one of our trucks. There guys are rock-crawling on 38+ tires and V8's with these rears so strength shouldn't be an issue. I know the early Camaro rears are 58" (and look awesome under these trucks with deep wheels), but can be $$$$. I see FJ40 rears for ~$100-$150 on CL all the time. The Toyota truck rears can be found very cheap... Thoughts? |

Sounds like a cheaper option, but it is quite involved. Good option for those with the fab skills.
