spark plugs
I have 1992 sbc with 1979 heads and carb and was wondering if I should be using platnium plugs instead of the copper ones. Also wondering if I need to buy plugs for 92 or 79. thanks

Re: spark plugs
Just run regular plugs for a 79 model truck. I've never had any luck with Platinum plugs over basic Delco run of the mill plugs.

Re: spark plugs
Nothing wrong with the good old Delco plugs. I use basic (least expensive) Bosch or NGK platinum plugs in my tired old 350, and they seem to resist fouling a little better than copper plugs.
The main benefit of platinum plugs is that the electrodes don't wear as fast. I've had a number of full-size Chevy and Ford vans, and when I replace plugs in them I'll spring a little more for platinum plugs, because changing plugs in a van is a real bear. |
