New from Seattle, WA - 66 C10 Stepside Longbox
Hey guys, wanted to introduce myself. I bought a 66 C10 stepside Longbox for $700 a few weeks ago and am starting work on it.
I'm not well versed with Chevy trucks (or large gasoline engines in general), so this will be a learning experience for me. Most of my experience is with Cummins diesels and the 80s Mercedes Diesel cars (OM617). I also have owned Harley Shovelheads through the years, so I am no stranger to turning wrenches. Not sure how the whole project will run yet, but I am focusing on cutting out the rockers and floors for now to get ahead of any progressing rust. I have rusted inner and outer rockers, some small spots on the floorboards, the door bottoms, and the obligatory rear tip of the front fenders. All in all, not too bad I think. The rest of the truck is pretty solid with some surface rust only. After I get my rust issues taken care of, I will paint the cab up pretty nice, put a nice interior in and then see where I go from there. Eventually I would like it to be really nice, but it will be a while before I fully get there. |

Welcome to your newest addiction. You'll find a wealth of info here. We're having a gathering at XXX Rootbeer in Issaquah July 3rd. Bring your truck if you can. Cool group, I'll warn you about Dennis (aka OldIron) later.

Looks like a solid start. Welcome to the board. Quick warning about your Toyota wheels. Check your drums for rivots. The Chevy wheels have recesses for them and the Toyota do not. At least mine didn't.
Hate to see your wheels come loose. Like mine did. 66 is a great year!
