Tailgate Switch
I'm just getting into the body of my build and was wondering about the dash tailgate switch . I don't seem to be able to find it in any of the parts books .
I am going to re do the power window ... I hope , looks like a new motor is going to be needed and guides . Any info on these gates would be great ! Thanks greg |

Re: Tailgate Switch
There is a member here that has a NOS rear window switch, or had. I'll check to see if he still has it.

Re: Tailgate Switch
I had to buy a new rear window regulator motor transmission for mine. I will dig around and find the GM part number for you if you need it. They are about 120 brand new, got mine for 90 since I work at an automotive shop. No one makes an aftermarket one that I have found so far. As for the dash switch, good luck. I have searched high and low near me and found nothing. Having a hell of a time even finding a part number.

Re: Tailgate Switch
Hi guys.
Yes I do have a NIB rear window switch. It was bought for an 85 Blazer I used to have. Turned out I didn't need it afterall. The GM # is 14040844. The window guides took some time to replace. Just takes patience. Seems like I had to replace the power motor drive cable on mine. It's been quite a while.

Re: Tailgate Switch
Thanks Jim.
I just realized I facilitated a transaction between non-premium members. My apologies to all. I didn't think past "I think I know where one of those is..." Please consider supporting the site, it's a pretty dang good swap meet for parts. |

Re: Tailgate Switch
Just sent Bruiser a PM ... its mine ...LOL ... thats weird none of the suppiers have these . I have not even torn into the gate it self ... sucks is its pretty straight but someone was using it with just one of the tailgate cables and torqued the box ... I have to gut the gate and going to twister her back .
Not a spot of rust on it so I don't mind the metal work ... give her a little tune up . I like the barn doors but there is something about a tailgate suburban ... its suppose to have one ...LOL |
