Newb from KY checking in
Hello all, FNG here from KY. I've got a 66 K10 stepside with what I believe is the 230 and a 4 speed. I'll post up pics of the truck soon. I just wanted to say Hi and I've been reading some of the threads here and it looks like a great forum with a bunch of knowledgeable and friendly people. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions than a virgin at a cathouse but I hope you guys will put up with me.

I actually bought the truck for my 16 year old son so that I could teach him how to drive a standard. We've spent the last two years restoring a 67 Mustang but it has an automatic. I think the best way to learn to drive is on a standard. If you can conquer that you can drive anything. Here's about a thousand words on that subject. I know the truck has an earlier cab, it must have been swapped by one of the previous owners but it is in pretty solid shape compared to the bed. It's fairly rough. I'm probably going to swap axles for some from a newer truck and I've got a freshly built 305 to replace the worn out 6 in there now. A complete restore is in the near future. I'll post the build here. (PS. Don't give me too much grief over the Mustang, I like all American Iron, I have a 48 Plymouth in the stable too, so I have all of the big 3 covered. ) |
