time to make some real HP
So I seized my 350 today... Its a long story but basicly a friend used it and forgot to tell me It leaked all the oil out of it, after he hit a stump. So Its done. Im wondering if anyone has put a big block in there jimmy? If so is there any issues I need to be aware of?

Sucks to hear about your motor. I won't loan anything to that friend again.
You'll need to modify the firewall to fit a big block into the Jimmy and keep it in the 4wd mount position.

yea man its a good high reving motor, but remember theres no replacement for displacement. i would personally go with 383 lots of torque and remember if you allready have a small block 400 go with displacement. just my .02

My buddy, who actually doesn't live too far from you in Lewiston put a 402 in his Blazer. It has been a few years ago but if I remember right he had a hard time finding accessory brackets that worked with the 4x4 mounting locations. I think he finally found or fabbed some but it was something that had him stumped for a while.

Re: time to make some real HP
I put a 454 in my 72K5 and I will NEVER go back to a SBC ~ NEVER!!!
SoooooMuch fun to drive and when wheeling just AWESOME!! If you use the search here you will find all the info you need. Each bigblock install has it's own unique "things needed" to do. Firewall clearance is the most common ~ drivers side valve cover ~ I just used a big hammer and bashed it in a little ~ no biggy for me Search and you will find!

Re: time to make some real HP
WHAT HE SAID! I love my 454 in the blazer. I acually get ok mileage running 35s and 3:73 gears. Runs around 2500 rpms on the highway. But if I wanted gas mileage I would have ridden my HD. I do have a big tank for gas just in case I jump on it.
