Project 5.3 69 Step.... BUDGET build to use as a Daily Driver
Hey guys this is my first 67-72 C10... I have been a HUGE fan of the LS family motors for several years and have always wanted a 67-72 C10 so i figured why not combine them!
The purpose of this build is to make a cool daily driver on a tight budget I have been looking through some threads and there are some VERY nice pickups some of you other members have! I wish i could afford to do such a nice build but the bank is a little slim lately. I have been working on it for about 2 weeks, gathering parts and body work... I will keep the thread updated with progress.... it will be slow progress since i dont have alot of time for it and will be buying things as the money comes in lol... I am open to suggestions also guys, so if you see something dont be afraid to speak up! lol The pickup has been converted to disk brake front and leaf spring rear (plan on traction bars)... The plan is to shave it all, and drop it (no bags tho lol) and use it as my daily driver! the day i bought it.... Last edited by 1BADLS1tuner; 08-21-2011 at 09:22 PM. |

Holy Crap!! I'm from Scottsbluff! I haven't lived there since 2004 though...
Nice job so far. I had to rebuild my junkyard 5.3, which sucked for me, but now it has a 3-year/unlimited mileage warranty.

Actually have made alot of progress in the last couple weeks!
Saving for a transmission and working on the box till i have enough saved to buy one... prolly just go buy and cut my own wood for the box to save a few dollars This is not a perfect pickup by any means but should be nice for a daily driver! |

Re: Project 5.3 69 Step.... BUDGET build to use as a Daily Driver
been a LONG time since i have had time to get on here and upate...
between my day job, working on the shop, and customers cars i havent had much time to work on it.. Changed the color to orange, with a light metallic flake... All the turbo stuff is here, and all the stuff to finish the truck besides the small odds an ends that i forgot or dont know about lol.... this winter it should be done! the motor got painted up and some upgrades... prc dual valvesprings, 227/231 cam, pushrods, timing chain, oil pump, ect.... Rebuilt 4l80 with Transgo HD2 kit, yank converter should be here in the next week... Last edited by 1BADLS1tuner; 08-12-2012 at 10:24 PM. |
