Need help with dropping '79 C10

My buddy has a 1979 C10 short bed wide box and he's wanting to drop it 2 inches all the way around. He says he has the 2 inch drop spindles for the front. What else does he need for the front? And what all does he need to do to the rear to drop it 2 inches as well?

put shackels out back. as far as the spindles i wouldent recomend an amature try ut. the springs can be very dangerous. truck could prob use some tie rods and a good grease... new bal joints r a must. mtry searching, theres tons of threadsbon this subject. im currently in the process.

Ball joints, tie rod ends, idlers ARM and I'd replace the steering arm. Before he does a 2inch drop, tell him to think about it real well. 2 inch drop is hardly noticeable on a truck. On a car its a different story.

The propper tools will help a lot. Air hammer, chizzle, good drill bits etc...get also ready to realign the front.

If he has a sway bar in the front, loosen up the sway bar, take off the caliper, might as well replace the bearings, take off the old spindles and get the prying...spring should come out with a bit if wiggling and twisting.

If you need specific help in certain areas please post the questions. Plenty if us on here have lowered rigs numerous ways.

I agree.
There is probably 1"-1.5" of sag in the old springs.
Adding spindles (they normally come in 2.5" or 3" drop for the 73-87 trucks)
will drop it that much more.
But if you change front springs,... it will likely come up in the front.

Look at the trucks in the 73-87 section.
The most common drop is a 4/6 drop.

That's correct. Make sure you cut the bottom not top.
