My new build

My Question is. Can you bolt on a newer Chevy S-10 rear disc brake set up to a 64 chevy 2 wheel drive rear axle, and will it have the right clearances and work right.

Re: My new build

Welcome to the forum

It is highly unlikely that will work very easy if at all. The truck 12 bolts have a backing plate flange bolt pattern specific to only that differential. You might be able to switch the complete S10 differential. Of course that depends on how much power you plan on putting to the differential. Member CVA59 put a S10 rear differential under the '64 he used to have. Check out his old build thread over in the 'Projects and Builds' section.

If you are wanting to put disc brakes on your 12 bolt, on a budget, I have 4 different rear disc conversion brackets available. The links are in my signature line.
