axles not centered under body??
front axles not centered under body??
I picked up a parts truck over the weekend and when i got it home i compared the location of the axles to the body for both trucks and they are both the same, but they are both shifted to the passenger side. I asked my uncle and he said they came like that from the factory? Have I been under a rock somewhere and didn't realize that four wheel drive 67-72+ trucks/blazers have the front axles shifted to the passenger side?? by nearly an inch? -Richard

Re: axles not centered under body??
I knew the old trucks were like that too, so when people were telling me that the blazer was dogtracking I always said 'yeah I know' but then a friend said it was "really" bad, so I double checked things.
Turned out I had re-installed one of the rear leafs backwards, which changed the centering pins location. Not sayin' this is your event but it happens. |

Re: axles not centered under body??
I have never noticed the front axle shifted to one side or the other... the front axle does have a wider track width than the rear axle for sure. What reference was used for measurement?
