1961 C10 Grille/Hood Swap to 63-66???

Hi, I am new to the thread and don't know if this has been covered or not already... I need to know what is involved when it comes to installing a '63-66C10 grille and hood on a 1961? How many of you have done this and what modifications need to be made? Any help would be great!

You have to unbolt the 62-66 sheet metal and bolt up the 60-61 stuff. Make sure you get the 60-61 head light harness too.

Thanks! I used to have a '63 and liked the look a little better for the route I am going with this one. Otherwise would have kept the original '61 hood/grille on it

Oh, I thought you wanted the 60-61 look. I know of a guy here in longview with a decent 63 grill if you need one.

All you really need is the grille and hood. The grille support will need new holes drilled to line up with the headlight brackets for the 63 grille. Either the two or four headlight harness will plug into the radiator support on the driver side of the radiator, you just need the correct one that attaches to the grille.

The hood will bolt right on but you need the latch that bolts to the hood. The release handle on the 60-61 hood points down, the 62-66 hood points to the driver side. The same is true for both Chevy and GMC hoods.
