They were/are a Deluxe cab item. I've had several sets over the years. I think that all the ones I have had are off 48/50 trucks that had one piece door glass.

They repop the outside S.S. window trim for $210 a pair but you can only get the inner trim used at $150 a pair. The repop front S.S. outer windshield trim is $99 a pair and I've never seen the inner windshield trim in S.S. but used it sells for $70 a pair. That's Canadain Dollars!
I would not assume the used S.S. pieces would already be polished either.

Re: how rare are stainless garnish moldings?

I had a 51 GMC that had the SS inners and chrome grill, but it did not have the outer SS
People often confuse the deluxe cab with the 5 window. All 5 windows are deluxe cabs but not all deluxe cabs are 5 windows.
My 50 is a deluxe cab 3 window and I have the stainless steel inside and out but, not the chrome grill. I know the history on my truck back to brand new in June 1950.
This is the original color.

Thats' interesting, I learn somthing new about these trucks every day or so.We had 15 at one time and they all seem to be a bit different. given age and number of owners. something pops up now and then that I haven't seen.

My 1950 is the deluxe cab with the 5 window. Like yours mine is also the painted grill with all the stainless in/on the cab. My cab, rims, and grille were all pinstriped too. I believe all the pinstripe was factory but I am not sure if they all had it.
