I'd say it depends on the area & how clean the truck is (or how correct the description is). That truck could prob bring in close to what he's asking if it's as stated within the ad so $6500; especially in the area where he's trying to sell it.

It's pretty nice...I agree its worth pretty damn close to what he's asking. It's a great foundation for anything.

If the drivetrain is as good as the exterior, then maybe $6500. The other factor is that it's a shortbed and they can somehow fetch more money.

"Less truck" depends on what it is your specifically describing. Short beds typically bring in higher re-sale value because they're more desirable w/enthusiasts as a secondary vehicle. Long beds are typically used more for work or basic transportation.

It's simple supply & demand. Enthusiasts typically want clean, undamaged, unhacked, short beds to play around with as projects.

Long beds are typically used as basic transportation or for work so they don't have to be as nice. Since the over-all condition of appearance isn't as important vs the mechanical functionality on a long wheel-base truck, they can be purchased for much cheaper prices.

Do enthusiasts still want long wheel-base trucks? Sure they do; just not on the same scale as those wanting short beds. Same deal w/fleet-sides vs. steppers....

I'm with him, I don't see the craze in a shortbed truck. I guess it's a matter of opinion. I'll keep my longbed, but that's just out of preference. That truck, in my neck of the woods, is a $7k truck no question. In the salt belt, clean trucks go for insane prices.

If the interior and engine are clean and the truck is as nice and straight as the pictures/description suggest, I'd have no issues paying him his asking price. It's a sweet truck.
