megabumper on a budget
I stumbled across a big ranch hand style bumper for a 88-98 truck about 3 weeks ago. i talked to the guy down to 125 and he helped me load it haha. I didn't take any pictures of when i bought it, but i figured for the price, i would build something for the dually. I spent quite some time with the torch cutting up the 88-98 bumper to fit the square body style. Then i made my own bumper reinforcement and bumper mounts out of 6"x2"x.25wall box tubing. I cut the 3/8 plate on the bumper so it would "hang" on top of the box tubing for some mechanical support before i welded it. speaking of welding, i dont have access to a mig, so it took a little longer but i had to tig the whole thing. I just figured i would share what a 140$ dollar bumper that was built by your average college student in his free time looks like haha.
...now i just need to stumble across a 12,000 lb winch on craigslist
