Re: can u run a ladder bar with leaves and bags?
Three questions:
Why 'no' on the Cal-Trac's? What's the current set-up? How much power? Any 'bolt-on' ladder bar set-up for use in a leaf spring application is for looks. If it's a weld-on kit, it's a bad compromise because of the binding that will result. If you need it to be a bolt-on, ditch the leaf set-up entirely & switch to a 4-bar w/tapered sleeve bags. Ride Tech, Porterbuilt, & KP Components all offer some variety of a bolt-on kit. If it can be welded, there's a bunch of 'universal' type 4-bar installation kits (try Ride Tech, PB, No Limit Engineering, or Scott's Hot Rods as they support this site as well as contribute info on a regular basis).

I have done it on several 4x4's, and it works great! Hard mount it on the axle end, and shackle mount the foreward end. This alows the bar to float with the leaf springs, but stops the rotation of the axle. Google 4x4 ladder bars and you will get the idea.
