Re: 73-74 show off

Paint match, Rattle Can and patience Total cost under $30.

I see your grill is a bit warped like mine was. A couple of sttikes of wood, C clamps and some warm sun will cure it in time. Be patient

Re: 73-74 show off

Picked these up on my latest pull a part run. Got the chevy one for $15, the GMC was $25....

1LowToy mind sharing what brand and color of paint you used. Any prep tips you can share will also be helpful.

Both of these grills need painting badly, but they are straight and crack free!

Re: 73-74 show off

Nothing special, but just a good cleaning and lots of masking tape. The grill fins really took some time to mask off. For the paint it's rustolium mag wheel paint. Very close match, just a little more flake. It actually came out real nice.

Re: 73-74 show off

Here is a pic of the 73 and possibly 74? only tailgate on the truck I just bought with the toolbox on the bed. Also here is a pic of the grill.
This truck had a chrome rear bumper from the factory, but someone put this step bumper on. Also the funny thing about the gate on this truck is that this truck is a sierra grande. The top of the line trim level but it had no aluminum strip on the gate and no chrome GMC letters on the gate. My 73 sierra which is the trim level under the grande has the wide aluminum piece on the gate and the chrome GMC letters. I guess you could get what you want no matter the trim level.

Re: 73-74 show off

Thanks man. I see you have a 73 gmc in the first pic above. Love seeing all of the 73-74 stuff. I try to grab any 73-74 grille I see in the junkyard.
The sticker under the GMC on the gate says Wendell Conditt. It was a GMC dealer in Texas, but I cant remember the city. I can look tomorrow.
