1972 Jimmy SPID Question

I'm looking at a pretty fair deal on a 72 GMC Jimmy. It looks to be mostly original, but the SPID is confusing me a little. I don't have much knowledge of Blazers / Jimmys, but would a 72 Jimmy have a Cheyenne option? I went to the SPID page on outintheshop.com, but it doesn't appear to have a 72 GMC vin decoder, or any model number information at all for a GMC.

Any thoughts or red flags?

The Cheyenne package is the highest trim level on Blazers. My one red flag would be that I'm pretty sure they didn't call it Cheyenne on Jimmys. Someone with more knowledge will chime in.

I called the guy back, and he emailed a picture of the title and verified that the vin on the title matches the vin on the SPID and on the door sill tag. I know the Cheyenne is generally a Chevy package, but just don't know enough about the GMC versions to be sure on the Jimmy. Everything else on the SPID appears to match up though. Maybe a mistake on the SPID?

The GMC version of the Chevy CST is the Custom. It would have the Custom scroll on the outside of the two doors, I believe by the door handles, and on the outside of the glove box door. It wouldn't surprise me that the spid would list the cheyenne package like the Blazers.

Thanks for the input. The more I search threads tonight, the more it seems like there wasn't much differentiation between the GMC and Blazer, at least in 71-72. Pretty sure the SPID is genuine, but I thought it was a bit curious. Probably going to pick it up, and if I do I'll definitely post a lot more pictures.

Whenever checking options on a spid, always refer to the actual option number. Different plants and the people printing them often used more than one name for the same option, which tends to add some confusion. The cst/cheyenne/gmc custom, are all the same. Regardless of the name used, they are all the Z84 option. Hope this sheds a little confusion.

Ya, this helps. I just wasn't seeing the codes within the extra digits in the codes.

If the vin matches the SPID, there isn't much to question, other than the fact that they seemed to word things a bit differently from one to the other with no real rhyme or reason.

I've got a major typo on mine, listing the exterior color as Medium Olive, but the blazer has been orange all it's life and still sporting 50% of it's original as born paint including the floors, all interior, door jabs and under the hood. Definately orange, the original owner was also a family member.
It's the correct SPID for the truck, someone was just having a bad day when they typed it I guess

I also found with mine being a Highlander, that the SPID lists this as "special promotional" but on one other SPID I've seen it was listed as "highlander". Others here also say their Highlander SPID's say "special promotional".

Strange stuff.

I'm guessing the typer felt that Olive was a description for orange, or maybe there was a green truck in production right in line with mine, and the typer had green on the brain
