Question What about the rear end?

I bought a 77 front suspension to hang under my 64 short stepper. It has the 5 lug bolt pattern with disc brakes etc.

What are you guys doing to the rear end? Are you changing the axels over to 5 bolt or are you changing out the complete rear assembly?

If you are changing, what are you using?

Re: What about the rear end?

most change the compleat axle but I opted to just order moser axles 40% stronger and then you can get what ever bolt pattern you want. you can get 5on5 and just get 71 and up rear drums or do like i did and get 5 on 4 3/4 and use late 60's car 11x2 drums that way you can get the wheels cheaper caus more people buy them. I wanted to run drag lites and car wheels are wider and more avalible but that was just what i wanted. if your going large rims then you'll be fine with the truck bolt pattern my axles were 300 bucks. and all you do is pop the rear cover pull the pin remove c clips slide out the old ones and slide in new ones. moser has the specs for the axles you just tell them what bolt pattern you want..
