heat comes from the floor and vents only

I do have heat in my 87 with ac but the slecter switch isn't changing where it comes from I checked the rod on the box behind the glovebox and I can't move it with my hands I also checked the back of the selector switch and I don't have vacuum there but don't know if and when I should I also checked the little thing by the gas pedal and no vacuum there

Any thoughts on where to start to get it fixed...

sounds like no vacume...Check under the hood along the firewall for a broken vac line. its easy to see the line its out in the open

Re: heat comes from the floor and vents only

Good news is i found the problem i think... there is a hose close to the distributor this is broke off and sucking in air and no tube going into the firewall. But the problem is there isnt a tube going into the firewall, so i went to replace the broken line and have no idea where the other end attaches anyone have an idea?

Surely there's something around the carb or vac advance that's missing it's other half. Maybe the modulator on the tranny? Reckon you'd notice that though. Shoot a pic of what you have.

As far as not finding something into the firewall...has to be something out there that puts a vacuum to your A/C
