Re: 1965 gmc dana 44 problems
Welcome to the forum!
I also have a GMC with the factory Dana 44 rear axle, but no personal experience with limited slip carriers. Here are a couple of rear axle troubleshooting guides that may prove helpful. The first link indicates you may have broken spider gears if the drivetrain is working and the truck won’t move at all. http://www.4x4now.com/gt0699.htm http://www.differentials.com/technic...ntial-problems If you want to attempt rebuilding the rear axle yourself, try a Google search under “Dana 44 rebuild”. There are numerous sites specializing in Dana axles. It might also be worth asking a local 4x4/Jeep outfit about your situation. These axles are very popular with the Jeep crowd, and they may have more experience to offer. Good luck. |
