Question about a electric choke

I am changing my intake and carb.on my 350. It has a two barrel and I
am putting a 4 barrel rochester on it. The 4 barrel has a electric choke.
My question...Is the wire going to the choke hot all the time ?
Thanks in advance..................Breadman

Thanks.....My truck don't have that wire going to carb because of the old carb.
