15X8 GM rally wheels

Searching but no luck on the forum. I am looking at a set of stock 6 lug 15X8 rally wheels for my 55 2nd and am wondering, will they fit, as in clear the fenders? Any one have some pic`s and what size tires did you use? Also was hoping to run a cap of sorts as I do not like the rally cap.

Check a thread on here called "55-57 caps on corvette rallys" for info on the caps. I have mid-80's 4x4 6-lug rallys on mine. They clear ok in the rear, the fronts would likely rub during turns if the truck was lower. I still have the i beam front, with two leaves pulled. So i have about 3" gap from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender. I'm running 255 65 15 in the front and 285 in the rear.

Thanks for the info and exactly what I was looking for. I did read that thread and that answered some of my question regarding caps.

Hb 32 ive also seen guys run the early 90's six lug steel wheels, while there not as appealing as the rallys i believe the offset is a little better for clearance.

Here's a pic of 15x8 rallies with 255-70-15 tires. on em. Hate the cap, so sold em. Have stock steelies now, but also have the rallies set aside for another project - withOUT the spinners...

Nice looking truck Jocko and that would be the one sitting in my driveway if I had the extra cash.

Jocko, very nice truck. I had one exactly like that a few years back. I had more people try to buy that truck than any other truck I've owned.

Re: 15X8 GM rally wheels

found a pic. the old tin pile is at a buddys house gettin re-strung. can't remember the paint, i gave em two coats of primer and three coats of some silver-gold stuff. you can kinda see how close these rallys are, and if youre low enough to have rubber in the front fenderwells you have issues

wow looking at this picture really makes me want to get on the ball get it lower

Re: 15X8 GM rally wheels

Went out and looked at the rally`s but decided that I did not like the OEM center cap look and looks like a moon cap will not work. Could have had all 4 with caps and a couple of trim rings for $75.

Re: 15X8 GM rally wheels

i just sharted. $75! But, if you don't like the GM 6-lug rally cap, yes, you're kinda out of options at that point... But $75! Doh.
