Re: my truck as it sits
a quick little mod you can do is paint around the headlight bezels black, I did it on my crew cab and it came out pretty good
took about 30 minutes. I just painted the whole thing black and then took thinner and a rag and wiped the excess off around the chrome here ya go

Re: my truck as it sits
Nice truck you got there..I too, bought a 1980 GMC project a while ago (same as yours, 2wd plain jane w/ AC) and have been slowly working towards a complete 5.3/4L60E swap. Your interior is far more mint than mine (even has the same upholstery!)...looking forward to the progress you make on the truck, man

Re: my truck as it sits
Love the truck. I like the shaded tailights and turn signal lights. Gotta check into the laws here to see if I can do that. Loose the front wind guard thing (under the bumper). They were made for the 81-87 style and IMO don't look right on the older ones.
P.S. I need that sticker too.

Re: my truck as it sits
FWIW, my '80 has the wind deflector on the bottom too (also a plain jane Sierra like the OP's)

Re: my truck as it sits
Really? That's strange. I was almost positive they were only for the newer models.

Re: my truck as it sits
My truck is a 5/80 build, so maybe it was a mid-year addition? Eh, who knows

Re: my truck as it sits
Thanks man...keep up the good work. Did the truck come with 3.73s from the factory? I want to replace my 2.76's to complement the 5.3 a lil' better, but 5-lug 3.73 rear ends are quite rare up in the north (land of the 4wd trucks, so a lot of 6-lugs), so me finding a 3.73 posi is gonna be damn near impossible. I'm jealous if your truck came with 3.73s from the factory
