I'm installing an exhaust system and the stock transmission cross member won't allow me to tuck my exhaust pipes like I want them.
I'm looking at this CPP crossmember, but thought I'd ask if there's a better one that might offer more hight clearance. CPP Link

Re: Best transmission crossmember for exhaust clearance.
How high off the frame is the square tube? I wonder if it has more clearance than the CPP?

I don't have mine installed yet to give you a measurement, but this pic might help.

Re: Best transmission crossmember for exhaust clearance.
Looks good for going over the top in your situation. I'm looking to go under with mine.

Re: Best transmission crossmember for exhaust clearance.
I have the CCP trans cross member, it lays flush with the bottom frame rail very much like FriscoDave's picture. If you want to get the exhaust between the frames you will have to go over the cross member.

Re: Best transmission crossmember for exhaust clearance.
I'm looking to duplicate what Bruce88 has done, just checking to see if their's a crossmember that would give me the clearance so I won't need to add the spacer as he had to.
See picture in #320 on this link.

Re: Best transmission crossmember for exhaust clearance.
Looking at that link, the crossmember looks like ccps. He says he used a 1/4 inch shim on both sides of the crossmember. That may be the best bet.
