Emergency Brake Lever-Won't Ratchet My

My E-Brake lever wont stay engaged. Not sure what the issue is but the release handle is no longer spring loaded. Is this an easy fix?

X2 Could also be that the spring for the pawl has broken, but I'd start with a good cleaning and light oiling. Mine would do the same thing until I put a little oil on it.

Same here. I had to block the tires in the driveway to keep it from rolling til I got the thing cleaned/oiled.
