Help with trans mount...
I put my motor and trans in place but it looks like the trans crossmember is about an inch further back from the 4l60. Is this normal?
What has to be done to fix this? Which rubber mount should i use? I have the one from the 4l60 but not a 350 one. If i buy an aftermarket transmission crossmember, with i also have to move it and drill new holes in the frame?

Re: Help with trans mount...
I used the 350 rear trans mount and it bolts up to the 4L60E. I lucked out and my transmission bolted right up in the factory holes without moving the crossmember or changing the driveline. I read other posts on here where others had to move the trans crossmember back and drill new holes and had to have a driveline made up. If I am correct, if you buy an after market crossmember it will have the same bolt pattern as the factory one.

Re: Help with trans mount...
I used factory trans crossmember. Placed motor and transmission
then bolted crossmember to trans and marked for new bolt hole on the frame. Then drilled the new holes. I only had to drill 2 holes as 2 of the holes aligned with factory holes. I then had a newer 4l60e yoke placed onto my driveshaft. The 4l60e yoke is the same spline as older trans just it's about an inch longer whch made up the diffrence for me. Posted via Mobile Device |
