lift kit question

I can post pics if i need. My blazer has a 6in lift and this spring im gonna swap it out for a 4in my question is my blazer looks like it has a 1977 dana 44 disk brakes and im pretty sure it has a raised steering arm and a dropped pitman arm the drag link is nice and level, when i lower it will i be best to leave the raised steering arm and put a stock pitman arm on it or just leave the dropped pitman arm and put a stock steering arm on or does it mattter whick one is swapped as long as i keep the drag link level? Thank you

Re: lift kit question

Are you still working on the gold blazer? I know you had it for sale but didn't know if you decided to keep it. Thats a good looking rig. Why do you want to lower it?

Re: lift kit question

I'm assuming your steering is in a stock configuration (not a crossover). For a 4" kit you would run EITHER the dropped draglink OR raised steering arm, not both. The draglink is a dropped unit if it has a 's' bend in the middle. Hope that helps!

Re: lift kit question

Yea im keeping the blazer i kinda had a brain fart and thought i would sell it to help with some financial issues but thank god i came to my sences and backed out of selling, i couldnt sell anyways my 5 year old little girl thinks its hers and it probably will be one day. Well the reason i want to lower it is i got all brandnew stuff laying here springs ,greasable shackles pins , 4in shackle flip, and it rides good and everything is basicly like new under it but i thought it might ride a little better (hope it rides and drives like that white 72)with the four in and im fixing do ditch the 15x12 aluminums and probably put some newewer style ralleys on it unless i can find some stock white ones with dog dish centers, and about the main question its stock for a 77 not stock for a 70 axle and no its not crossover steering just stock stuff other than the steering arm is a raised one and the pitman arm is a lowered one i just wondered if one was better to change than the other , the drag link is adjustable and strait not the s shaped droppe one , i asume it probably wont matter which i swap as long as my drag link stay spretty level and from some threads i ve read on here it looks like i maybe better the just put a stock pitman arm on assuming my steering arm is a 4in raised one since they look like they can be a son of a gun to get broke loose and changed , ill post some pics this spring when i change the lift and swap out the th350 to a sm465
