CPP Motor Mounts and Tranny support question
I just install my 5.3 engine into my 68 suburban, but I notice that on the passenger side the oil pan is rubbing just a bit into the cross member, I install the CPP engine mounts in the front most holes, is that where is supposed to go, or do I need to installed them in the back holes. If I installed them inthe back holes, do I need to drill a hole for the bolt that goes into the cross member. As it is right now, with the motor mounts in the front the tranny support from CPP does not line up with the holes from the chassis.

Move it back. You may have to drill for the trans...

66chevymax, that is what I am thinking of doing, I will just have to drill a hole in the cross member, since it does not have one there.

Re: CPP Motor Mounts and Tranny support question
That is correct. Take good measurements before you do. That bottom slides in at more of an angle than you think.

Re: CPP Motor Mounts and Tranny support question
I would use the ECE mounts instead of the CPP mounts. THey allow you to move the perches from the front to the back without drilling anything. I didnt like the CPP mounts but that was me. I also used the CPP trans mount and liked it.

Re: CPP Motor Mounts and Tranny support question
well I drill another hole in the cross member and it works, but now have an issue with the cpp tranny support, if I alignes the support the holes in the tranny mount do not line up, so I have to install the support at a littl angle, the tranny is centered but it is at an angle, so I am gone have to look into it, here some pics.

Re: CPP Motor Mounts and Tranny support question
I will have to do the same but I'm holding off until I have headers that fit.

Re: CPP Motor Mounts and Tranny support question
The CPP mounts wouldnt allow me to use one set of headers I had, so that is why I went with the ECE perches. they will fit front or back mounting holes. I had to trim my top frame rail but 68-72 wont have to IIRC
