Probably has 10k in the shocks. Those offload trucks are BIG money... Had a local trophy truck shop quote me $5k for a (nice) street cage in my camaro...

That's not a bad price for a baja race truck. There is probably around 100K wrapped up in it.

I really like it and a Baja class win is a big deal. A lot of history in that truck. Heck you can't shake a stick at a no-name "brass tag" Camaro (trans-am raced) for under $200k... It's a shame there's not much of a vintage offroad scene beyond the Garner Olds Banshee and Parnelli's Olympia beer Bronco.

I think that is a sweet truck, and can definitely justify the cost. Offroad suspension and components are very pricey.

What do you guys think it would cost to buy the chromo tube to make that chassis? I mean before you even paid anyone to cut bend and weld it? Not ball busting, seriously just kind of thinking aloud.

When I was looking at moving from production car racing to tube cars, a very well known race team down in Escondido contacted me about their Reilly copy trans am chassis. They wanted over $80k for a bare chassis. Just the tubes... Without a single bolt on part.

You're normal everyday joe doesn't have a clue how really insanely expensive racing is... That's why I have my old square and a bunch of skateboards and Bmx bikes now!
