Like the new haircut?!

Hey guys,

So my truck started having some rust bubbles on the passenger rocker panel, so I decided to promptly get it into the paint shop to get repaired before it got worse. Since it was in the shop already, I had multiple scratches, dents, and such repaired just from driving the thing. At the last minute I decided it needed a haircut as well....

Some History:
When fist building the truck, my dad came home with a spoiler off a car, and plopped it on my roof. At first I hated it, but it grew on me, and had the third brake light which I wanted to encorperate at the time. I decided to keep it up there. Well, it's been there since early 2007, and after taking 75% flack and only about 25% compliments on it, I still kept it there. Lately I've been toying around selling the truck to start a new project, and the roof spoiler drastically personalizes it.... I figured it'd be in my best interest to remove it. I'm definitely not complaining about the results! It is still a cool truck IMO!!

What do you guys think of the results? First two pics is before, every other is after.

Re: Like the new haircut?!

I liked it before and I still liked it after. I probably would not put one on my truck but I guess the one on yours was sentimental and that's why it was cool.

I think it looks much better now. Sweet truck, wish I had the money if you're gonna sell it.

Re: Like the new haircut?!

I'll kinda go against the grain, because I really like trucks with personality. I like trucks with a unique and distinct style. Oddly enough, it didn't work with the stepside because it's too short, it doesn't look right making it taller with such a short bed. But if it was a long bed, I think I would like the spoiler on top.

Lol no just a regular one piece rear window with limo tint. The flush one may be in the future... A flush slider however would be sweet, but very hard to accomplish!!

And thanks for the compliments!! It just enforces my decision to rid the spoiler. I knew how much many of you hated it!! Lol

Re: Like the new haircut?!

It looks so much smoother to me with out the disturbance in the body lines that the spoiler created.
Cab spoilers were very popular in the late 80's and early 90's. The reason most people didn't care for it was because it gave the truck an out dated look. I don't think anyone "hated" it, but I feel most will like it more without.

Re: Like the new haircut?!

I think it looks A LOT better... to me there is some many things on that truck to look at and the spoiler drew too much attantion away from all the other hard work...

Great looking truck...
