My 1956 Chevrolet Task Force 3200
Hey Guys,
I just joined the forum and I wanted to upload some pictures of my 1956 Chevrolet Task Force 3200 and ask some questions. It is a three speed and came with air conditioning if the engine is original (I still have to remove the engine). The body is in really good shape no bondo, pretty straight, truck from Nevada. The person we bought it from had it recently painted and covered up the interior trim tag, I pretty sure it was originally a Tropical Turquoise interior and exterior. I had to sand the trim tag to even figure out what the original package was (sanding probably wasn’t the best idea, but I was anxious). The cowl tag is missing completely from the passenger side firewall, is that the correct place for the cowl tag, or is there somewhere else I should look? The truck also has some pretty rare options from what I can see: big back window, spot light, two spoke steering wheel. Was this all part of a package and was there anything else included? If you find anything that I haven’t noticed in the pictures that are helpful feel free to comment. My brother and I are working on making it a daily driver. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it! The first three pictures is the work we done since acquiring the truck. The last two pictures are from the day we got the truck. The trim tag says: Trim= 443 J and Paint= 740. Thanks Guys! |

Nice truck. Was the AC original (condenser in the heater box) or an aftermarket under dash unit? I had the later in my truck. I do not know if ac was even an option in the truck in the south desert.

There was no condenser in the heater box, so maybe it was aftermarket. I'm not sure though.

You're a lucky man. That's a great looking truck before you even get started. Nice tires too. Are they in decent shape?

Re: My 1956 Chevrolet Task Force 3200
looks like a nice truck. floors look stock and rust free for sure
what are your plans with it? if your vin starts with V then it is a factory V8 truck to the best of my knowledge... ac was introduced in 59 in trucks it was a stand alone system that mounted on the floor, below the heater, center mount in column shift trucks and passenger side on floor shift trucks stand alone; as in it was ac only, with it's own fan and switch. totally separate from the heater and heater control
