Needing paint code help on my '76 Chalet
I have been a member of the board for about 5 years now (have had several '67-72 chevy 4x4s) but I recently purchased a 1976 Chalet (see photos below). The hood needs to be repainted due to wear, but I want to make certain I select the correct paint codes. I think the cream color of the hood is Santa Fe Tan, but I need an experts help. Where are these codes listed on the truck? Could anyone here please help me out with the paint codes? I would greatly appreciate it!
I am hoping to have it painted this weekend so I need this info as soon as possible. |

Re: Needing paint code help on my '76 Chalet
If you still have the SPID label they should be listed (the RPO code up in the body of the label and the WA number down at the bottom).
I'll see if I can find more detail as I go through this afternoon. K

Re: Needing paint code help on my '76 Chalet
Here's the info packet for '76 Blazer from the GM Heritage Center archive:
http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-h..._Full-Size.pdf It shows Santa Fe Tan as code "60", so you should see RPO "60U" as the primary color for the truck on the SPID. Unfortunately it doesn't show the "WA" number, and does not include any info about Chalet. Autocolorlibrary shows code 60 as PPG number 2777 "Neutral": http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorli...truck-pg01.jpg K

Re: Needing paint code help on my '76 Chalet
Keith,
Here are some shots of the SPID tag in my glove box: After looking at the paint code chips you attached, I am leaning more toward "Polar White" or "Neutral", but I have to make certain to paint this hood the correct color to match the rest of the truck. The paint info is listed as 4001ZR which I can't find anything on? Any additional decoding or help is greatly appreciated! |

Re: Needing paint code help on my '76 Chalet
Hmm. That doesn't make much sense. I don't recognize that 4001ZR code or format either.
It's definitely in the tan/neutral color palette (not polar white). Let me see if I can find some Chalet specific info, or hope one of the other Chalet buffs chimes in. K

PM sent - can't help on the paint code, but perhaps the guys at our Chalet owners' forum can help out with that or other questions you might have.
