Hand Brake? Parking Brake? Pic's?
Looking at options for the emergency brake and was wondering what everyone else is doing.
I am thinking of an under the dash mount handbrake. Anyone care to share their set up etc.? |

funny you should ask....I was actually going to put a handbrake in, but then decided to do a foot brake..took a 73 - 87 foot pedal, cut it to angle it down, and then shortened the side mount to put it closer to the side wall..it'll look factory when done,,,,got the idea from Orrie I believe

I'm using a mid 60's porsche 911 hand brake under the bench seat. Got it for $35 on ebay and made building cables REALLY easy.

Re: Hand Brake? Parking Brake? Pic's?
I used a 90's square body s-10 parking brake, and just a little something I found out it seems that Chevy used the same parking brake cable ends and coupler for many of the trucks and suvs so the junk yards have a big selection of cables that you can make something work for cheap, I have a long bed and mated up the original s-10 cables from the rear end and a cable from 2003ish 3/4 full size Chevy and it works on the s-10 pedal, I drilled and tapped some spacers and welded them to the kick panel to mount the parking brake and I can take it off if needed, not a great pic but gives you an idea
