Re: Aluminum rads! Who's got em and wants to show em off??
Yes but not at a great angle it fits 100% like stock. I posted a pic of the stocker vs the champion 100% match. I have a stock fan shroud that is trimmed back a bit but other than that it works great even on a 408 SBC with 11.2 comp ratio no issues in AZ heat at all. Metal fan with clutch as well.. Keep it simple

Re: Aluminum rads! Who's got em and wants to show em off??
Recently online I saw a 60-62 aluminum one that had the forming across the top similar to an original.
I'll see if I can find the pic and post it. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Aluminum rads! Who's got em and wants to show em off??
Hey willyp nice truck by the way but can you get some better close up pics of how the shroud mounted to the radiator I ordered 2 of them for different trucks and there is no holes in the end of the radiator channel to bolt thru the holes are in the shroud and also did you just drill holes in the shroud and bolt on your fan? I also ordered the 4 rows but they are the same on the ends as yours

Re: Aluminum rads! Who's got em and wants to show em off??
trav, just drill your own holes to attach the fan to the shroud with small nuts, bolts and washers and the shroud to the radiator. i would also use sheet metal screws to attach the shroud to the radiator incase you have leaks, the shoud and fan will come out quick as one piece. im outta town for the weekend so ill post pics monday.

We have a Champion in the '65. Scored it here from a fellow member.

Yes, I think the Champion is a good way to go fir what you have, and they have a good price also.

Re: Aluminum rads! Who's got em and wants to show em off??
I'm going with the champion as well with the electric fan. Do I still need to put the two metal braces and seals on the sides which I think are for the shroud to mount to? Or will it sitting in the cradles and the top mount be sufficient?

Re: Aluminum rads! Who's got em and wants to show em off??
It will sit there fine, I put the sides on to ensure the air goes through the rad and not around it.

Re: Aluminum rads! Who's got em and wants to show em off??
Yes, agreed.... you will definitely want to channel all air possible through the radiator. Any gaps around it, you will want to put a filler panel of some sort, to force the air to go through the radiator.
