My 66 Build
I Now have a 66 stepside longbed c10. I got it for free, but it cost my cousin $2000 (I think she overpaid by $1000)
What it had: 350 sb 4 barrel carb 411 rear end 3 speed manual 2.5 dual exhaust 4 wheel drum brakes RUST The story My cousin wanted a truck, and my moms friend had this for sale. My cousin then did not work much on the truck and ran out of time during the summer. That was 3 years ago. I got into a wreck and totaled my Geo Storm. I needed something to drive and now I have this. until I fix and sell the truck. I don't want to sell it but I need money. I will hopefully get a job by then and pay my cousin and Grandfather. In Progress: 700r4 Transmission Body work Interior (radio, cheap speakers, shifter, fix all the aftermarket switches, steering wheel, manual shifter removal. My plans for the truck: Front disk brakes Power steering Power brakes Mild to rough cam grind Smaller bore intake 3" dual exhaust Wooden bed re-installed lowered 2-5 inches Ratchet Shifter Bored out engine ported/new head Chrome Front bumper Chrome s10 back bmper My Storm Pics soon Last edited by Brett Foster; 02-22-2012 at 05:46 PM. |

Re: My 66 Build
what about pix of the truck? I would get her running and stoping, then make a decision about selling or keeping.

Re: My 66 Build
I want to keep the truck. But after I finish the body and I paint it I will put it up for sale. If it does not sell I will keep it and start my plans.

Re: My 66 Build
Does anyone have a good shifter? Also I have a few questions, Should I build a console or get a truck shifter? Is the 700r4 transmission linkage compatible to the speedometer?

Re: My 66 Build
I got the transmission in. Now I just need to make a cross-member, cut the drive-shaft to fit, get detent cable, and get and install a shifter.
