10 Bolt Rear Posi Options?

OK My G80 posi cratered( I Know Big Surprise)...All I need is the spider gears replaced but i called and found they are unserviceable. I am looking at all options to get it back on the road and staying with a 10 bolt diff. Is there a economical replacement? I have checked into Auburn and its gonna be 800 plus. I dont have that cash but need my truck. I have another option of getting an open diff and swapping the carrier in but then no posi. I dont really need a posi i guess and It would probably last longer than going with a another G80...Opinions?

Cool Re: 10 Bolt Rear Posi Options?

It depends on 1.) how deep are your pockets, 2.) how are you using it.

I think you can find a new Eaton unit on stealBay for around $500.

Re: 10 Bolt Rear Posi Options?

why not try to find a complete used diff?

you can swap to a 12 bolt your brake backing plates will bolt right up to it if you cant find a 10 bolt, I bet you can find one for under $300

on CL i see them all the time for $150 or so
