Re: parking lights weird problem

my 82 did the same stuff, check your wires and make sure they aren't corroded

mine looked like they had caught fire
so i replaced them with a set of Junkyard ones for free (cargo pants come in handy don'cha know)

Re: parking lights weird problem

I'd check the plug on the headlight switch.
Lots of times they are melted. Check and make sure all the connections are good.

Re: parking lights weird problem

As I said,I replaced mine...but it took 2 new ones, before I got one that worked!Even new ones can be bad.I finally got the second one,and cured the problem, but only after talking my cousin into doing a "swap-n-see",putting my new one in his truck(didn't work),and his used one in mine(worked).

Red face Re: parking lights weird problem

Motornut is correct.Wires pulling out of the connectors is a possibility...never gave it a thought!
Try wiggling the wires in the headlight switch connectors, with it "on".

Re: parking lights weird problem

That's a relay for an auxiliary electric fan, says only certain RPO's have it...

check for power on the park light wire at the headlight switch. If there is power there keep checking down stream until you find where the power quits. Same for the grounds...

Did you check the fuses with a multi-meter?
