Kooks 1 7/8 headers+ stage2 dropmember= WINNING
Headers are TBSS specific and have pretty good clearance on both sides. 1 7/8 3" collector full length headers They dont hang down as low as I thought they would. Seem like another good header option as long as I can get a steering shaft in there
Im using an Fbody oil pan |

Very nice headers!
Is that the 'mild' DM? Did the engine move from stock? What was the problem with the Doug Thorley's? Not related to headers- do your inner fenders still fit with that setup? EDIT: Driver's side looks like it hangs lower than passenger's?

For the guys with the extreme dropmember the DT 's didn't work because of the motor being raised. There are clearance issues at the firewall. They probably would have worked for me but I just decided on the kooks. The driver side collector is slightly lower than the passenger but I don't think it will be an issue. I haven't checked to see if the stock inner fender will work. Would be great if they did but Ill have to check with Nate Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Kooks 1 7/8 headers+ stage2 dropmember= WINNING
Any chance you could take more pics for me. I am trying to get my Edelbrock 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 out of my truck and tried fitting Kooks 2" 4th gen headers in and it's a no go. I know Kooks can make the TBSS headers in a 2" but don't want them made with out more pics.
Pics I would be looking for: Where both collectors lie relative to the frame (How much room is there, outside of the collector to inside of the frame). How close the tubes are to the back of the block (how fast they drop, I run a mid plate and worried they might protrude past the block and run in to the plate) Also, what part number are these? Thanks a ton!!

Wow, I think this is what I've been looking for. Thank you very much.
Did you get a steering shaft in there? What motor mounts and reinforcing plates are you using? |

Re: Kooks 1 7/8 headers+ stage2 dropmember= WINNING
Motor mounts are standard ls mounts that come with the dropmember. Hope to have the steering shaft routed this week.
SUPER73 - I took more detailed pics of the header clearance that ill post shortly. I think they'll work for you. Im very happy with the way they fit. Jtp - measurement coming! Posted via Mobile Device |

Jtp : the headers come down about 2.5" lower than the fbody pan.

Summit will let send them back as long as you don't mess them up. I asked before I finalized my order on the camaro set and the tbss set I ordered.

Re: Kooks 1 7/8 headers+ stage2 dropmember= WINNING
Headers are scratched straight from Kooks in the bent sections. It's one solid tube they bend.

Re: Kooks 1 7/8 headers+ stage2 dropmember= WINNING
Grrrr.. The passanger side header does not work for the simple fact that I have an aftermarket 6 bolt head. The passanger front tube passes through two of the lower bolt location. I technically could cut the two ears off, but if I ever go to and aftermarket 6 bolt block, I would need another set of heads.
Would never have thought about it, but this pic shows what I am talking about. Everything else would work with minor adjustments to the motor plate.
