This one IMO is the "ONE" The grain is far superior to the previous but it has ONE hairline crack on the back spoke....
Once again as many angles and pics possible. This one has "BUY ME" written all over it! (It does I checked) $206 shipped CONUS

Re: Another VERY NICE!!! 69-72 Steering Wheel
Wonder if the crack can be plastic welded.

Re: Another VERY NICE!!! 69-72 Steering Wheel
It could and I have dabbled in plastic welding. Also in JB Weld, and MANY epoxies. I would just leave it be but that's preference. I think the problem with welding would be finding a comparable "modern" material. If anything
I also have no idea how you would dye black plastic a lighter color either. Best bet would be adhesion promoter, no sand primer, and specialty paint and/ or aerosol. I have secrets though but I have to keep some for myself...

hmm... I have 0 experience with dye. So you don't think it'd absorb a dye of a different color?

Re: Another VERY NICE!!! 69-72 Steering Wheel
I have no dye experience besides with alcoholic beverages, fabrics, and vinyl... Have you ever seen brown crayon or marker on top of black??? I don't think its possible is what I am getting at.

Re: Another VERY NICE!!! 69-72 Steering Wheel
Here,
"If you want to dye some dark plastic, from black to yellow for example, you have to dye it with white dye first, then dye it again in your final color. If you use non-white dye the final color will be a mix of your first and second color." http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/modding/46 ...was considering, but I'll pass. Thanks

Re: Another VERY NICE!!! 69-72 Steering Wheel
Yeah I hate being a stickler... I really like helping and mainly providing nice parts... Since you were such a good sport we will call it an even $200. Was just trying to cover paypal fees with the $206 is all. remimartin257@aol.com
Thank you sir! A little TLC with BIG emphasis on little...you got yourself a show quality wheel IMO... The grain is just crazy nice!!!

Re: Another VERY NICE!!! 69-72 Steering Wheel
Thanks everyone for the compliments!!! I keep trying to hang on to a nice wheel but I just can not get the liking for the big 17"... I love the nostalgia of them and once I dig back into my build,,, I will prob. regret letting some stuff go but I know anyone on this board is a well deserved and appreciated home!!!

Re: Another VERY NICE!!! 69-72 Steering Wheel
You gotta watch Duane on that shipping ! I tried to buy an inner fender from him forever and he's tough ! (just playin man.. )
But, yes .. I was tempted too. That's why I checked back this morning and it's gone (as expected) You wouldn't happen to have a decent tan colored one lying around would you? GMC cap?
