Show me your No-Chrome Grill
I'm removing all the trim and emblems from my truck (emblems go to the pay-it-forward thread) and got around to the front and realized I dont have a plan for the grill. So show me yours.

Re: Show me your No-Chrome Grill
Here is what I did. My grill was really messed up with a few breaks. I glued it all back together, sanded it done and painted it. Even the headlight trim rings. It'll do for now.

Re: Show me your No-Chrome Grill
I like that. I'm thinking of doing a painted grill as well but with the body in a nice blue

Re: Show me your No-Chrome Grill
mine's powdercoated a glossy black. my friend was experimenting with what all he could coat. he told he'd do it again after i get my truck repainted. i also had a few cracks in the insert, i fixed tehm with epoxy and then painted the insert black as well.

Re: Show me your No-Chrome Grill
Just the top strip of chrome, which will not be chrome in the next few months when I start to paint. Grill's staying the flat grey'ish it is now, haven't decided. Except now I have two big dents on the driver's side where a buddy backed his truck into it.

Re: Show me your No-Chrome Grill
This is the original with the dents smoothed out. I painted it with a silver flake paint, repainted the letters and all the black trim, and clear coated it with a high gloss clear. It turned out so nice, I was scared to put it on the truck. I have it hanging on the wall in my office.

Re: Show me your No-Chrome Grill
Im talking about the grill/insert/headlight backings/hood lip etc.
My plan is to remove all shiny things and I wasnt able to wrap my head around the grill/bumper. |

Re: Show me your No-Chrome Grill
Here is mine that I painted with a semi-flat trim paint. It is the type you see on side window frames of newer cars.
If you are interested I can dig up the can of paint I used. |
