New 65
Recently picked up this truck and after new points and a coil, it runs great. Just wondering if LMC is the best place for OEM parts. Also not sure if I want to keep the 283 with a four speed. Suggestions welcome.

I want to keep it a standard shift, and for an engine I think I'm gonna stick with a small block chevy. I have a 350 from a 76 c10. Im thinking I'm gonna want more power then the 283. Toyed with the idea of a 4 cyl cummins, but decided against it.

I'm running a GM crate 350 in mine with a Richmond Super T10 4 speed and it's pure fun to drive. There are newer motors that offer better technology, but for a budget build it's hard to beat an old school small block. Parts are available everywhere for very little cash compared to newer engines.

Looks like a pretty straight, cancer free truck. Nice find! If the 283 seems to be running good, run it for awhile. It may grow on you.

I usually buy the parts I need from http://www.truckandcarshop.com/catalogs.htm , they seem to have the best prices, and I have no quality complaints.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah, theres only a handfull of minor dings and the only cancer is under the weather stripping on the passenger side. It's not major, how good does that CLR work?
