I got some KILLER tires for free!

One of the mechanics down at our shop was loading up a bunch of tires to be hauled off to the dump the other day, and he asked me if I wanted these. Heck yeah.

One of them has a little cut I had to fix.

I would never run a tire with a hole in the sidewall like that

Yeah, I'm no tire expert but that looks sketchy!

I like how the hole is still circled in white, just in case you couldn't see where it was.

Re: I got some KILLER tires for free!

OK, I'll tell you the whole story now. Everything in my first post is true, except our mechanic knew I was looking for some tires just to put on my Panel chassis to make it a roller. It's about that time. I need it to be on it's own 4 feet.

So today was the day I'd been putting off for awhile. Tire rodeo. I had 9 tires and 7 wheels and none of them where they needed to be. I have 2 real nice trailer tires on my truck bed trailer, but they're mounted on rallies.

I have 2 steelies that I want those on. I have 2 other rallies without tires, and one with a junk tire. My spare for Ol' Green was on a steelie. The other steelie has a junk tire on it.

Simple so far, right? My goal was to have the 4 Firehawks on 4 of the rallies, the 2 trailer tires on the steelies, and my spare on the 5th rally. That's where the trouble started. The guy at the tire store didn't want to mount the Firestones until I explained that they were never going to see anything other than my driveway. Then he wouldn't mount my spare. He went on about some nonsense of it being 27 years past it's expiration date. I had to break down and buy a new tire for a spare. Oh well, one less thing to worry about.

I had the tire store guy so confused he didn't know where he was.

Hey man rollers for just pushing it around for free are the best... then your not ruining good tires if you get overspray ect all over them.
