'64 Drop member install Trans Hump

Does anyone know if replacing the low trans hump with the tall trans hump necessary with a PB dropmember. Almost every post I see has the hump replaced with the tall hump?

Re: '64 Drop member install Trans Hump

the hump is not from using a dropmember it more from running an auto tranny not alot of room in there for auto especially an OD.

I think the DM moves the engine up a couple of inches, which is why it works better with a high hump

If running a big block even the high hump isnt enough.

So where is the best place to find a tall hump. I assume these are taken from 4x4'? I have looked and I can not find any one making these as a replacement. Thanks

They came on 4x4's but they came on any 2wd with a 4 speed tranny. I have 3 2wd's in my driveway they all have the bolt in high hump. So look in junk yards for the 4 speed version. The hump bolts in, but you also need to drill out the spot welds for the front portion the hump bolts to! Good luck.
