Re: Truck Warriors!
That was by far the lamest truck build I've ever seen!
The blue team clown thought a long bed was 7' and Shine didn't know any better until he put a tape on it. So they proceed to cut 10" out of the bed and frame to make a short bed? Straight cut the frame and butt welded it back together! Are you kidding me. And lets drop a big block in where we just pulled a small block out of, don't worry about the mounts being wrong, or the radiator, or the 2-1/2" driveshaft. And don't we all cut a big hole in the back of a perfectly good cab to mount a boom box in. Congratulations, you win...now go throw your truck away.

Re: Truck Warriors!

Re: Truck Warriors!
Its a show, and looks better than some of the builds I have seen previously, and I'm glad they finally did a truck. amazing how they can do these paint jobs in such a fast time, where it takes forever to get someone to work on mine.. LOL... but must be nice to have a full shop and store nearby to grab whatever you want.. both did a nice job,,

Re: Truck Warriors!
yeah, I'm kinda on the fence. I look at it this way, to build what they did in 48 hours was incredible. But if they did the same thing in 2 months, I'd say it was time wasted. I thought the long/short/who knows bed was a mess. And I'm not sure how running out of paint and just blending another in mid-hood is a good thing. But again, lucky for them they couldn't work past 48 hrs..
Ok, I'm not on the fence, I thought both looked a bit ridiculous. Just accomplishing a lot in 48 hrs doesn't mean it was "good". My 2 cents only... Just felt like they ruined two good trucks to showcase their capabilities with no plan for what constitutes a nice truck - again, my 2 cents only. Sticking giant shiny wheels on a truck doesn't magically create a cool truck overnight - this was just a bling fling. But almost anything on tv is these days. And, I will fully admit that maybe IT'S JUST ME! If this stuff is on tv, it's probably because there's a market for it and it's what people want to see. So, I am assuming I'm in the minority and publicly showing my age. Or my something else. |

Re: Truck Warriors!
why in gods name would any one cut a hole from the bed into the cab? im only 19 and i think a good system is important but if they had already taken the tank out why not just put a shallow mount box and pancake speakers behind the seat? The wheels on both of those trucks were ugly as sin and that bed shortening frame and driveshaft cutting and rewelding and all that was pretty crazy but other than that i think they both came out pretty good considering the given time

Re: Truck Warriors!
Nice that they had 1969 trucks but, what a waste! clown trucks! one didn't even have an ignition switch or anything in the dash! And the hole in the cab/ bed? Sorry, I don't care how much time was spent on them boring! plus all the drama that the producers create I had the show on my dvr (thank God for the delete button!) cheers, Pat

Re: Truck Warriors!
My 6 yr. old was watching with me. When the guy said he was cutting out 10 inches to make it a shorbed, I told my son not to listen What do you expect in 48 hours? How do they get the paint done so fast? Baking lights? I liked the blue team one better though just because they cut a bed down and welded it back together. I would take that mod before filling the bed with all that stuff and cutting a port through the cab. Best I ever did removing an engine was 45 minutes and they did it in 11? Crazy.
