Widest tire on stock rims 65 c10.

Looking for pictures and reviews of going wider then stock. i am going to put jeep springs in rear and a 3 or 4 drop spring in front. I am going to use stock rims. What size tire is best? Is it hard to widen the stock rear wheels 2 inches (that way I can look stock). I wish to run something like 235 in rear and 215 in front. I have 3.73 gears and 283 engine with a four speed.

Re: Widest tire on stock rims 65 c10.

here's pics of mine with 235/75/15. That really is the widest tire you should put on a stock 5.5" rim. NOTE - this is the widest that can safely be mounted on the 5.5" rim - does not guarantee that if you slam it it won't rub somewheres - just guarantees a safe seal and mount on the rim.

Question for ya - do you plan to put disks on at any point? If so, then sell your stockers and (since you obviously like the stock wheel look), go on the hunt for a set of 71-87 K10 wheels. Same lug pattern, 6" wide and can fit a little bit more tire (not much), but most importantly, the inside of the rim will accomodate disk brakes.

Good luck!
